This Paper describes the progress and current status of investigations carried out by Israel into allegations of misconduct and violations of the Law of Armed Conflict by Israel Defence Force(“IDF”) during the military Operation in Gaza from 27 December 2008 through 18 January 2009 (the “Gaza Operation,” also known as “Operation Cast Lead”). It is intended as an update to the information presented in Israel’s reports related to the Gaza Operation previously released in July 2009 and January 2010.
